Building the Open Spatial Web with OGC/OSCP Standards
Our CEO recently spoke at the “3D on the Web” event hosted by the Khronos Group in San Francisco.
His presentation focused on OGC’s Geopose and Points of Interest (POI) standards, showcasing how they enable the development of an open spatial web platform for both mobile and WebXR clients.
The session underscored the potential of a standards-based spatial web, where applications from different developers can seamlessly interoperate through shared geospatial infrastructure.

As part of this effort, a world-first Open Spatial Web Demo was featured at the W3C Immersive Web Face-to-Face event. This is the first open spatial web platform demonstration ever conducted, showcasing seamless interoperability between two different AR clients: SpARcl (a WebXR browser by Open AR Cloud) and MyGeoVerse (a native mobile app by XR Masters). Both applications shared localization via a common GeoPose-based VPS provided by Augmented City (another partner of Open AR Cloud) and retrieved geospatial content through open POI services, anchored to real-world locations.
