Exploring the Future of XR at 5G Techritory 2024
We’re thrilled to reflect on an incredible experience at 5G Techritory 2024, held in the heart of Riga! As an official knowledge partner and XR platform provider, we transformed the ATTA CENTRE into a dynamic AR Cloud-enabled space using our MyGeoVerse platform, showcasing a range of immersive, shared augmented reality (AR) experiences.
Our AR installation allowed attendees to explore features like AR navigation, interactive displays, and unique exhibits from notable collaborators such as the Kuldiga Tourism Information Centre Museum, Vira DG, and Riga Technical University. With these shared and persistent AR experiences, we offered a glimpse into the future of augmented reality and spatial content.
Panel Highlights: Shaping the Future of Immersive XR
One of the event’s major highlights was our panel discussion, “Immersive XR Technologies and Digital Twins for Tourism, Education, and Cultural Preservation.” XR Masters CEO and Open AR Cloud Co-President, Ali C. Hantal, took the stage alongside distinguished industry experts from Nokia, NOVA ICT, and the University of Patras to delve into the transformative potential of XR. We were honored to share our vision with a diverse audience, including Latvia’s Minister for Smart Administration, Inga Berzina, who joined us in exploring the possibilities of immersive XR technology.
AR Cloud Compliance and Standards: Partnering for a Democratic Spatial Web
Our commitment to open, interoperable XR experiences was brought to life with the help of Augmented.City, our VPS provider, and a member of Open AR Cloud. Each AR experience adhered to Open Spatial Computing Platform (OSCP) standards developed by The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) and Open AR Cloud, reinforcing our vision of a spatial web that is democratic, accessible, and open to all.
This initiative was made possible in collaboration with p-NET Emerging Networks & Vertical Applications, Riga Technical University, and the University of Patras, whose contributions helped us create a seamless and standardized AR environment for attendees.
